DOR Is Being Ignored

Right now I am the only one publicly enphasizing the role of DOR in deterioration of weather functioning.

DeMeo is more interested in bashing Moslems. Blasband has become a follower of a Russian psychic healer and lost interest in orgonomy. Constable will not talk about DOR because he thinks thinking about it causes it. The ACO is focussing on psychiatry and has not published an orgone physics article in 18 years. Matt Ryan is more into ripping off Montana farmers by charging for rainmaking services and claiming he does it with spiritual powers. Jamie Ogg refuses to give up on conventional science, despite it being in conflict with his own observations of orgonomic facts. And, of course, none of them would co-operate with me in any way on anything, even if the survival of the planet depended on it, which it does.

Jerome Eden was the one most into the aspect of orgonomy dealing with the effects of DOR on atmospheric behavior, and he had a small group of students in northern Idaho, but since his death nothing has been heard from any of them.

The DOR / oranur emergency was the issue that most consumed Reich in his last 5 years, and it has been forgotten and ignored by a generation that is only into cloudbusting to have fun making the weather do what they feel like making it do.

But the problem goes deeper than that. The oranur process is not only about what happens in an orgone accumulator with radium inside it. The original oranur experiment revealed the true nature of what orthodox science calls radioactivity and how it really works, including how it really interacts with living tissue and causes illness. It also shows how radioactivity interacts with the atmospheric orgone to affect weather.

But the implications for science and medicine are stagering. Just to start, radioactive materials do not radiate. The energy detected from them is really coming from the ether around them. It is the irritated ether that is detected by instruments and wrongly thought to originate in the internal dynamics of the material which is only acting as an irritant to the surrounding ether.

The whole concept of radioactive material having a fixed half-life is wrong too. The rate at which the material undergoes changes is not fixed. It varies depending on the orgone density it is exposed to. Since the inside of a living organism has a much higher orgone charge than the outside air, radioactive material inside a living body is being transformed by the orgone charge of that body and will eventually be rendered harmless, though the organism will die in the process. But since in nature everthing that dies is soon eaten by something else, the radioactive material will be rapidly cycled through a succession of bodies until it becomes harmless. On the other hand, shutting it up inside a leak-proof container to keep it away from the biosphere will only make it remain hazardous forever.

And since no container can shield against oranur, the container will have a deleterious effect on the atmospheric energy despite being leakproof. The effects that are detected by orthodox instruments are only some of the effects of such material irritating the ether. Other effects, both biological and meteorlogical, cannot be detected by their instruments and will continue to cause trouble. The problems will not of course be connected with radioactivity. They will include droughts, floods, heat waves, cold waves, wildlife die-offs, mysterious illnesses and changes in human behavior. The Ph of water will be affected. The chemistry of the atmosphere will be affected. In fact, just about everything in both biology and meteorology will be affected.

The so-called hole in the ozone layer is an oranur reaction at high altitude. AIDS is delayed low-level radiation sickness. Many species numbers are at historic lows because of oranur effects on their health. The number of lightning strikes is decreasing, leading to less bioavailable nitrogen compounds that plant life needs. The list of catastrophic effects goes on and on.

Only the orgone theory has any conception of all these connections and the very few Reichians who might form a nucleus of a research team are too preocupied with petty political trivia like Moslems vs. civilization, or trying to prove the existence of orgone to rigid, dogmatic mechanistic scientists who will never believe it no matter how much evidence is presented. Or wasting time and funds on spiritual salvation instead of living in the real world. Or anything they can think of to avoid facing the facts that the atmospheric life energy is dying, no, not dying, BEING MURDERED, by mechanistic technologies in the hands of a massive over-growth of a disease-causing organism known as the humanpox.

Into this mix, add the dire dangers of cloudbuster proliferation, as the internet facilitates communication so hundreds, possibly thousands, of ignorant idiots like Ash start fooling around with cloudbusters, each with his own theory of how they work, how to improve them. and what needs to be done with them. So far, the widespread use of radioactive technology is still the most serious environmental threat, but cloudbuster proliferation is rapidly overtaking nuclear reactors as the technology doing the most damage to the biosphere.

Jerry Decker is a technophiliac and cannot see anything wrong with this. The Weather Rangers are self-deluded and the devices they are using do not really stand much chance of actually being able to do what they think they can, or much of anything, for that matter, but this cult shows what is bound to happen sooner or later with some group using real cloudbusters.

As the atmosphere becomes more and more stagnant, there will be a reaction of more frequent and severe storms, especially tornados. Strong circulatory syatems are a healing reaction of the life energy to the presence of DOR. We need a lot more tornados and hurricanes, not less. They are the way the atmosphere attempts to clean itself out and re-establish normal movement. Anyone trying to interfere with hurricanes or tornados is vandalizing the atmosphere. And if the Weather Rangers were working with a real technology that really could do what they think it can, they would be a worse menace than the nuclear industry.

Another Possible Way To Affect The Atmosphere

I have often said there is only one way to beneficially affect the weather, and that way is the Reich cloudbuster. I have said it so often that I have started to believe it. But I had almost forgotten there actually is another way that might work too. At least there is no solid theoretical grounds for dismissing it the way there is for electronic means.

The reason I am so certain no electronic method of weather control can possibly ever be invented is that the atmosphere functions according to well-understood orgonomic principles and those principles rule out any possibility of electronic weather control. The many crackpot inventors who claim to have invented some sort of electronic or electromagnetic method of weather control are deluding themselves because they are unaware of the basic orgone physics of the atmosphere and do not understand that any method that is not based squarely upon the laws of orgone energy, as first discovered and described by Wilhelm Reich, cannot possibly be effective.

But the orgone energy in the atmosphere is the same as the energy in the living body, and therefore what works on the body should work on the atmosphere as well.  I have recently been reminded of a claim I had almost forgotten about being made by an American expert on organic farming, Hugh Lovel, now living in Australia, that he has been able to stabilize and regulate weather conditions on his farm by use of what is essentially a homeopathic spray.

Mr. Lovel claims that a homeopathly prepared potion of certain substances sprayed around a farm will stabilize and regularize the functioning of the atmospheric energy in the localized area that has been sprayed. The claims made are consistant with the known laws of atmospheric orgone energy, so they cannot be ruled out as impossible the way any claims for electromagnetic weather intervention methods can be.

Furthermore, the claims are modest enough, involving only the area directly subjected to the spraying, that there is no significant environmental risk to be expected from experimentation. And, equally important, from an orgonomic point of view, the method, if effective, would not interfere with self-regulation of the atmosphere, but would actually enhance it.

I have not observed this method in operation, so I cannot say from personal experience if it really does work or not, but I can say that if it does, it would be helpful, rather than harmful to the functioning of the atmosphere, and at the very worst, even if used incompetently or irresponsibly, could do no harm. Therefore, the method should be tested and if it is found effective, I would expect the results to be on the same order of usefulness as the use of homeopathic medicines in the treatment of disease.

And that would be a lot better than any electronic method will ever be able to claim.

Points To Ponder Before Cloudbusting

Many people see the cloudbuster as a tool of "weather control". It is not. The proper use of the cloudbuster is to heal a sick atmosphere and restore it to a normal, healthy, self-regulating state, not to "control" it or "make rain". Just a scalpel can be used to kill someone as well as to do life-saving surgery, a cloudbuster can be misused to control weather instead of being put to the proper use of healing the atmosphere.

A cloudbuster can bring rain in the midst of a drought, but unless the underlying cause of the drought is addressed, the rain will sooner or later stop and the drought will resume. On the other hand, if the energetic stasis that is preventing the rain is removed, the normal pulsation of the atmosphere will bring rain at more or less regular intervals from then on.

The short-sighted efforts to "make rain" reveal an ignorance of the basic facts of the orgone physics of the atmosphere. Today, thanks to the internet, more and more people all over the world are learning how to build a cloudbuster, but nothing I have seen on the internet tells them how to use it properly. Some websites give instructions on how to get this or that result by doing this or that, but none of them teaches the far more important information of how NOT to do cloudbusting.

The most important thing to know in cloudbusting is how to avoid mistakes. Knowing the errors to avoid and how to avoid them is much more important than knowing any specific technique for getting some specific result. For this reason, not for any motive of personal vendetta or grudge, it is necessary to give specific examples and case-histories of cloudbusting operations that went wrong or were improperly conducted as lessons from which it can be learned what not to do.

In the planing of an operation, it is important to include the ecological background of the situation in the area to be affected. For example, it would be hard to do much harm by causing excess rain in a rainforest where there is normally plenty of rain all year long. But the same amount of added rainfall in a desert could be a disaster. Recent propsals to manipulate Carribean hurricanes to weaken them or divert them away from land show a similiar failure to take into account the normal patterns of the weather in the area and the needs of the local ecosystem.

Hurricanes have had a bad press. On the evening news they are seen as having caused a lot of damage, trees knocked down, etc. and it looks like what the announcer says, that they do a lot of harm. Many people who do not look any farther than the mass media for their education on current events accept that evaluation.

Nothing could be farther from the truth. In regions where hurricanes are common and there can be several in a normal year, they play an important ecological role. A large portion of the annual water supply is provided by these strong storms.

Trees are knocked down, true, but the resulting tangle of downed wood gives habitat and shelter to many species of animal life that need such tangles of downed timber to hide in from predators. While the downed wood is being recycled into the forest floor to provide nutrients to a next generation of trees, the insects that do the job gain food and a place to live. They in turn feed many species that live on them.

Species that are not adapted to life in a zone that has hurricanes cannot invade and cause all the damage that invasive species always do in a new habitat. If the hurricanes ceased, they would be able to gain a foothold to the detriment of the species already living there. The well-known case of the introduction of the rabbit to Australia should be enough to point out the risks of allowing exotic species into an area.

Just as there are some ecosystems, especially in Australia, but also in the Cascades in Oregon, for example, that are fire-dependent and need periodic fires to function properly, so also there are hurricane-dependent areas, in particular, the coastal zones in the sub-tropics, where the frequency of hurricanes has created a hurricane-dependent ecosystem.

The coastal zones in the sub-tropics are already under severe attack from development. The very last thing they need would be a short-fall in the frequency and strength of the annual tropical storms that keep them in balance. If humans were ever to begin to interfere with these much-need storms on any significant scale it would be a disaster beyond any that can be imagined.

Yet, incredibly, some people, having found out about what a cloudbuster can do, come to the conclusion that they should dash out and try to prevent the next hurricane from making landfall. They imagine they would thereby be doing the region a favor, saving lives and property. They think of themselves as heros and are indignant and enraged at anyone who tells them they would be causing massive damage by what they intend as a good deed.

Unlike the usual, mechanistic concept, the orgonomic concept of the functioning of the atmosphere considers the atmosphere to be more than a haphazard collection of gases driven by temperature diferences. In the orgonomic understanding, the atmosphere consists of an integrated system of related componants following well-defined roles and both the activating force and the directing factors are subsumed under the heading of orgone. The terminology reflects the functional identity between atmosphere and organism.

We speak of a "healthy" atmosphere or a "sick" atmosphere, we speak of restoring it to health and we consider it capable of self-regulation just as a living organism is. We do not think the rain that falls was evaporated from some body of water, and then condensed back into liquid again due to a drop in temperature, we think the main atmospheric elements, carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen, which by no coincidence are the same as the major elements in the living body, are constantly being created from mass-free orgone by the superimposition of streams of orgone within the atmosphere, and one of the results of this constant, ongoing process of creation is the formation of water in clouds.

We do not consider the huge weight of water in a cloud to be suspended above the earth by updrafts, as the mechanists think, but by the repulsive force to the orgone the water is charged with, and when there is a sudden sharp discharge in the form of a lightning bolt, the charge is removed and the water starts to fall.

If the conditions are highly-charged enough, not only water will form in the atmosphere from mass-free energy, but also bacteria. This is the reason bacteria are so often to be found in raindrops. If the charge were even higher, much higher than it usually is in modern times, but within the limits that existed in pre-historic times, even larger, multi-celled organisms would form directly from the energy of the atmosphere as it condensed into matter.

These are only a few of the many points of difference between the orgone theory and the orthodox, or mechanistic theories of the atmosphere that reveal a vast chasm that must be crossed before an individual is ready to engage in cloudbusting operations. It simply is not possible to do cloudbusting properly on a basis of mechanistic theories that ignore the orgone energy continuum that moves the atmosphere and underlies all weather phenomena.

The action of the cloudbuster pipes affects more than the behavior opf air and water vapor, important as those are. It also has direct effects on the biological functioning of every living organism within range, and that range can extend several hundred miles or possibly even more. For example, experiments by the late Harold Saxon Burr, at Yale University in New Haven, Ct., showed a sudden jump in the bio-electrical potenrtial between two electrodes embedded in a tree within a few seconds after a cloudbuster draw was started in Benningto, Vt., several hundred miles away.

Such close interconnections between the atmosphere and biosphere are incomprehensible to mechanistic science, but entirely understandable and predictable in terms of the orgone theory. For this reason, anyone attempting to do cloudbusting without a through grounding in orgone biophysics is on a par with a blind man trying to fly a plane.

The Importance Of Hurricanes

Hurricanes have had a bad press. On the evening news they are seen as having caused a lot of damage, trees knocked down, etc. and it looks like what the announcer says, that they do a lot of harm. Many people who do not look any farther than the mass media for their education on current events accept that evaluation.

Orgonomic Ecology

Many years ago, Wilhelm Reich warned that the life energy of the earth was dying from
radiation poisoning. That is still true; the widespread proliferation of nuclear
technology since Reich's time is still the greatest threat to the continued
existence of life on this planet.

But in recent years, as the internet has made it possible for anyone with a
computer to spread the word about anything they please, irresponsible
instructions for building cloudbusters have mushroomed and I now would place
cloudbusting in second place only to nuclear power as the worst environmental
threat facing this planet.

There is an anti-nuclear movement trying to protect the earth from nuclear power
plants. As a compliment to that movement, we urgently need an anti-cloudbuster
movement to protect the earth and it's atmosphere from what my teacher, the late
Dr. Eva Reich, used to call "wildcat" cloudbuster operators.

I intend to start such a movement. Anyone interested is welcome to contact me.

Not Weather Control

It is a common occult belief that visualizing something helps bring that something into manifestation. It is a belief often found in self-help books, which advise meditating on a desired goal, for example, or in Christian Science theory, which claims all illness is caused by believing one is sick.

Constable is very mystical, as his being a follower of Rudolph Steiner shows, so it is not out-of-keeping with that for him to think visualizing DOR and giving it credence is what causes it. He once told me Blasband was "socking in the whole East Coast with DOR by worrying about it all the time". So nothing in all his many published writings over his entire 40-year cloudbusting career mentions it.

In fact, all his writings on cloudbusting are full of a control-freak attitude that he can CONTROL weather, make it do what HE wants it to do, and there is never any reference to RESTORING normal pulsation, never a mention of healing a sick atmosphere, never a mention of atmospheric self-regulation. It is all about CONTROL.

This sick attitude negates any value in his lifetime of work in the field. Constable is a brilliant researcher and has made several real advances in cloudbusting technique, but he is an authoritarian personality by nature, and such people should not be doing cloudbusting.

And the result is that after all his many years of work, there is not one PERMANENT result of it all. No DOR barriers removed, no deserts restored to normal, regular rainfall without need for further cloudbusting work. No lasting benefits to any region where he has worked. Only a return of the drought conditions every time he stopped working because he did not do DOR-removal, did not break down DOR-barriers that were causing the droughts, did not address the root causes of the problem, only the symptoms.

This was, of course, good for business; he wanted to be paid for his work, so if he solved a problem permanently, he would only get paid once, while if he solved it only for one season, he would get paid again the next year when the problem returned. This is one reason why cloudbusting should not be commercialized. There is too much temptation to cut corners that way.

So one of the most important things needed in the field is a clear definition of what the goal of an operation is and what constitutes success. Reich did deal with this topic, talking about the difference between a dictator and a guide, about establishing atmospheric self-regulation, about practicing atmospheric medicine, and so did Eden. And Blasband did too in his early articles in the Journal of Orgonomy. But Constable never mentioned it.

The medical model of cloudbusting is the one that gives the best long-term results, but the people who are control-freaks are not interested in it because they are attracted to cloudbusting in the fiurst place by the sense of power and being in control that it gives them. Look at the terminology they use: Weather Control. Beware of anyone who calls cloudbusting weather control; it is not.

And that is why the name of this list is what it is.

From My Correspondence.........................

I was not jumping to a conclusion. It is not a question of good people who simply need to learn what the facts are and will then see the light and realize they were mistaken. It is more like a statistical nearly universal human pathology to destroy the natural world by any means possible because freely-functioning nature terrifies most people. There are some very good reasions that this is so, historically and psychologically, and nearly everyone in this sick culture is like that. All environmental problems trace directly to that one simple fact: Humans are afraid to let nature alone and do not trust it to run itself.

All technology is based on that fact. Humans, most of them, fear the natural world. They do not believe it can control itself. They think they need to be in control of it. They think they are not safe on this planet otherwise. And that is why "weather control" is a popular concept, but hardly anyone ever talks about atmospheric medicine to heal a sick atmosphere and restore the capacity for atmospheric self-regulation.

The cloudbuster CAN be misused to control weather, but that is malpractice. What should and MUST be done is use it to fix the damage to the atmosphere that humans have already done by their technologies, not use it to cause more damage.

So when I see a group of humans who want to prevent a perfectly necessary and vital natural phenomena, I do not think they just need education. I think they need deep therapy. And as an environmental activist, I cannot provide that. What I have to do is stop them from committing the destruction they want to do. Why they are so destructive and how to change that is a problem for someone else.

Preaching to people will not work. It has a long track record of failure. And no amount of diplomacy will change that.

It's a fact of human conduct, that you can get more done by using a friendly, diplomatic approach, rather than an antagonistic, condescending, accusatory one, jumping to a first conclusion hat everyone must be bad, rather than good people needing to rethink their approach.

Your loss. Maybe if you paid more attention to the content of what I am saying than to the style you would learn something.

I do not see the Earth First! Journal being "diplomatic" to lumber companies or Captain Paul Watson of the Sea Shepherds being "diplomatic" to Japanese whalers.

And if you really want to do some good in the world instead of being on a power-trip, maybe you could concentrate on the issues of ecological effects of what you are doing instead of lecturing me about how to win converts.

I do not expect to win over many members of the Weather Rangers. They apparently have a mind-set already that hurricanes and tornadoes are something harmful that should be prevented if possible. That is an attitude common enough in this culture, but it ultimately rests on the orthodox science assumption that the atmosphere is not alive, has no needs of its own, has no organization or background cause for what it does, but is only a hap-hazard collection of inanimate gases that moves because of temperature differences.

That the atmosphere is a highly-organized system, and that it can be either healthy or sick, and that if it becomes sick it can be healed and made well again and can then resume regulating itself without needing further intervention is the real issue.

And instead of discussing that issue, you are lecturing me about my writing style.

I have assumed they are well-meaning; well-meaning idiots, that is. If a group wants to be taken as well-meaning, maybe they should start with looking at what they have done to be regarded as idiots. Your website contains two posts from two different members, referring readers to a slanderous defamatory article about me on the website of James DeMeo, an individual whom I have criticized for his repeated environmental catastrophes and who therefore has obvious motivation to defame me.

To characterize his lies and ad hominum attacks as "news" about me is perhaps typical of how politics is done these days, but really, now, it would be better to stick to discussion of the issues instead of changing the subject from a debate on the merits of weather control to a discussion of me and about what I did or did not do 30 years ago, how I make a living, whom I associate with, and even, for gods sake, what color paper I once wrote some letters on.

The articles DeMeo has on his website, and linked to on the conspiracy-theory website of one of his fans, are at best, irrelevant to any serious discussion of the ethics of weather control. So why are they being presented by the Weather Rangers as somehow having something to do with the points I have tried to raise?

Ash sent a post to the Orgonomy Mailing List asking for volunteers for a secret project. I correctly figured out what the plan was, and raised some objections that should have been taken seriously and subjected to meaningful discussion. I also sent some e-mails to some members of the Weather Rangers, including you, and at least a few of those got posted to the Weather Rangers website.

But so, apparently, did links to the BS DeMeo wrote about me, which was written almost 20 years ago. And nobody seems to have bothered to ask why he wrote it, what his possible motivation might be, and if it was really true or not.

So pardon me if I assume such people are idiots. Or at least they are not interested in a discussion of what, if anything, they ought to do regarding the weather. Instead of discussing the ecological issues of weather control interventions, they would rather discuss if I am a burglar or if I once wrote an article for Skeptic magazine.

I am not blaming the group for the silly rantings of Ash; he is obviously a loose cannon and his nutty ranting can be disregarded, but the rest of the group, especially a few of the most active members, seem oblivious to the serious ecological damage they might do by their "good intentions", which are really nothing but well-rationalized egotism and power-tripping. And if they will not engage in any real discussion of that potential damage, they deserve no more consideration than any other corporation that is destroying the environment for profit.

That their motive is ego-gratification instead of money does not make them any better. They are still willing to destroy the environment and any person who wants to protect the environment will still want to stop them. Winning them over is apparently not an option, so my efforts are not aimed at convincing the Weather Rangers; they are aimed at stirring up environmental activists to fight against them.

Most of my messages have been going to people on my personal mailing list, a list which includes many environmental activists, and my main aim at this point is to let them know that such a group as the Weather Rangers exists and is a threat to the ecosystem. So I present the facts without any concern for what the criminals who are trying to demolish our atmosphere might think.

But I did make recommendations. I recommended doing an environmental Impact study before making any plans for a project. That is standard procedure these days for almost any project, let alone one that could have consequences as far-reaching as this one. It would be highly irresponsible to proceed without one.

I recommended consulting an ecologist and I explained why that would be a good Idea.  I recommended an end to secrecy and making all plans public so the public would have a right to comment. I recommended complying with environmental protection laws. Your lawyer would certainly recommend the same.

I have been involved in environmental activism for a long time and it is not for you to advise me how to be more "productive" at opposition to companies that are clear-cutting forests, strip-mining landscapes, harpooning whales, exterminating endangered species for the Chinese medicine market, or destroying the atmosphere because of their ignorance and egotism. I would be happy to debate you or anyone else ON THE ISSUES, but if you want to give advice on being "productive" you really need to clean up your act.

Joel,
You would be more productive if you didn't condescend in your reference to the Weather Rangers.
Rather, assume they are well meaning, and make recommendations.
Don't assume they are idiots and talk that way.  You'll win no converts that way.

And this excellent exposition shows why the Weather Rangers are fooling around with something they know nothing about. They have no idea at all of how the atmosphere works, knowledge that is the first step in trying to help it when it malfunctions.

In fact, they have no idea that there is even any such thing as a normal atmosphere, capable of regulating itself, and a sick, malfunctioning atmosphere, which needs help to return to self-regulation. They see it all as just something inanimate, something they can intervene in at will, to get whatever results THEY happen to want, irrespective of what the atmosphere itself may want.

The Weather Rangers are like someone with no training in medicine finding a shinny new scalpel and deciding to try it out by doing surgery without bothering to study anything about anatomy first. They do not understand the body they are proposing to operate on. In fact, they cannot even see it. All they can see are the television newscasts showing how "bad" the normal healthy behavior of the atmosphere is, so they wish to kill that normal healthy behavior, the strong circulatory storm systems upon which atmospheric metabolism depends, to obtain "domesticated" weather, more to the liking of T.V. announcers.

The Weather Rangers remind me of a suggestion by some anti-nature idiot that grizzly bears should be geneticly engineered to breed out agressiveness so they would make safe pets. No healthy person would choose to live in a world where such things could happen. Hurricanes and tornadoes are a part of living on this planet and trying to domesticate the atmosphere is what the ancient Greeks called Hubris.

And Hubris was punishable by Nemisis. If the Weather Rangers do not realize their approch is wrong, if they persist in trying to harm the atmosphere by interfering with vitally-needed storms, then it will become incumbent on those who understand the difference between a living atmosphere and a dead one to assume the role of Nemisis and put a stop to their nefarious plans.

If this means a weather war, fought with cloudbusters, one side trying to prevent hurricanes and the other trying to create or augment them, then so be it. It may come to that; that if the atmosphere is being vandalized by operations designed to prevent storms, we may have to form a group to do operations to replace those storms.  It is a lot easier to create hurricanes and tornadoes than to stop them anyway.

And if we ever do decide we need to form a group to cause hurricanes, I suggest we call it "Nemisis".

Weather Wars

In 1971, in Caifornia, there was a weather war. At the time, Trevor Constable was doing cloudbusting under the auspices of the American College of Orgonomy. At the same time, a retired Methodist clergyman, Rev. John Roush, was going around demonstrating a cloudbuster at supermarket parking lots and tellin people he hads been chosen by God to prove the miracles in the Bible were done with cloudbusters. The two of them had spies out watching each others operations and both of them were doing cross-draws trying to interfere with each other. There was a week of very heavy rain that neither of them wanted and several houses slid downhill in mudslides. Some angry homeowners found out and wanted to sue them both, but were advised by their lawyers that such a suit would not have a chance to succeed.

More recently, James DeMeo claimed on his mailing list to have done operations from his home in Ashland, Oregon to counter-act the operations being done in nearby Medford by Don Croft. Croft is a paranoid conspiracy nut who uses a modified form of cloudbuster which is unlikely to produce much effect, in my opinion, but DeMeo has somewhat more confidence in it than I do and thinks it can cause droughts when left running too long. He may be right. I have not tested the device and cannot say for certain.  In any case, there was a drought going on which DeMeo blamed on Croft and so he conducted operations to counter the expansion he thought Croft was causing. The operation was successful, regardless of if Croft was the cause of the drought or not, but if Croft really was the cause of the drought, that would not have been by accident. Croft thinks any clear weather is good weather and apparently wants to eliminate clouds from the planet entirely.

Such examples give one pause when contemplating the future of a world in which cloudbusting is common knowledge. If two ( or more ) individuals or groups have differing ideas of what weather is desireable, which one will prevail? How can such disagreements be resolved without one or both sides resorting to covert operations designed to interfere with the others? Will the general public have to endure weather wars in addition to the vagueries of natural weather?

There is now a new contender on the scene. A group calling itself the Weather Rangers wants to eliminate tornadoes and hurricanes. They are not Reichians and have no idea of the orgone-biophysical facts behind these very important weather phenomena. They think hurricanes are destructive and do not understand that they are necessary. If they attempt to carry out a program designed to prevent them, it might become necessary for someone who knows more about the weather than these so-called "Weather Rangers" to do counter-operations to cause hurricanes or strengthen those this group might try to weaken.  This could end up being a full-scale weather war, with the public, as usual in m,ost wars, caught in the middle with no idea what is going on.

It would be a good idea if there was some respected body that could arbitrate such disputes and be accepted by all concerned. Such a body would have to be international and with a clear charter or mandate to be impartial. And it would have to rule based on the scientific facts, and not be influenced by politics. Is that even possible in this imperfect world? I do not claim to know, but I suggest it is long past time that the small number of people interested in cloudbusting give this matter some serious thought.

Answer To A Letter From A Reader.....................

Hi, Laura,

To answer your question, yes, it certainly is possible that is what happened to Ash. There is enough in the orgonomic literature to show that a person standing too close to a cloudbuster can get overcharged from it. The best-known case is that of Robert McCullough, who was using a cloudbuster in the desert near Tucson, Arizona, and suffered a stroke resulting in a hemoplegia. Trevor Constable reported in one of his books that a similar incident happened when one of his friends got a shock from touching his cloudbuster.

In fact, I have been told by Mary Poe, Trevor's former assistant, that she thinks he himself is chroniclly over-charged from too much cloudbusting and that is why he has such an "inflated" ego. She thinks the chronic over-charge is causing a chronic expansion of his system and the egotism and arrogance he displays is the psychological aspect of that biophysical hyper-expansion.

I suspect there could be some mechanism of this type at work in the case of James DeMeo too. He certainly thinks he is the greatest thing to come along since Reich invented the orgasm. His presumption that he owns the atmosphere, along with his assuming the role of an orgonomic Pope, claiming the right to dictate who is or is not permitted to work in the field of orgonomy, is perfectly in keeping with the hypothesis that he is in a state of chronic over-expansion, accompanied by the inflated egotism that seems to go with the condition.

I recall that Sally Howe, when Gilbert was doing a lot of cloudbusting, and the cloudbuster was within 100 meters of the house, said the children were more restless and got into a lot of fights when it was operating.

All these examples from cloudbusting tie in perfectly with the known cases of over-charge from orgone accumulators. Jay Mikesell told me of his college roommate who wore an orgone vest and hat, used an orgone mattress, and sat in an orgone accumulator several hours a day. After a week of this he flipped out and had to be hospitalized. Jerome Eden was extremely paranoid, which cloud well have been his own reaction to orgonotic overcharge. I fact, I myself once became very irritable from keeping a small accumulator under my bed.

So the incoherent rage, inflated arrogance, insane threats, and total illogic Ash displayed in his recent series of letters to the OML and to myself and others involved in the incident does look as if he has been doing too much cloudbusting lately. I knew he had been doing cloudbusting in his backyard, in a suburb of Brisbane, Queensland. Thank you for pointing out the possibility to me.  I should have thought of it myself. I guess this shows even I, brilliant as I am, cannot think of everything.

Joel

About Me....................

Joel Carlinsky has been actively involved in orgonomy since 1967, when he took part in a summer-long cloudbusting project in Massachusetts. In 1971, he did the first full-scale cloudbusting expedition since Reich, in Queensland, Australia.
He also, later that same year, taught the first college-level course in Orgone Biophysics, for which 8 students received academic credit under an independent study program at the University of Massachusetts.
In 1973, after many experiments with  orgone accumulators and medical DOR-busters, he repeated the Oranur Experiment, learning in the process how it can be done without the intense localized biological damage that disrupted the work of Reich. He also made important observations on the wide-spread effects of oranur work on weather and confirmed the transformation of radium into orur as first reported by Reich. He also studied the effects of oranur and cloudbusting on wildlife behavior.
In the 1980s, he became the first pilot to do airbourne C.OR.E. operations, towing a needle of orur behind a small plane in Arizona and Southern California, creating cloud cover in desert areas.
He also conducted experiments with small, strong orgone accumulators attached to fast-moving vehicles, made observations of the effects of DOR on sound transmission in the atmosphere, and has done experiments in pre-atomic chemistry, including Experiment XX, verifying the claim of Reich that new mass is formed directly from mass-free energy in freezing water, and further, that the mass that forms is of a biological nature. He also observed the formation of an organic-seeming oil directly from the atmosphere, a process first observed by Reich, but never published.
Joel was one of only two people to attend the only seminar given by Eva Reich, the daughter and designated successor of Wilhelm Reich, entirely devoted to orgone biophysics, rather than the psychiatric and child-raising topics which usually dominated her seminars. After that seminar, which lasted an entire week of 6 to 8 hours a day, she told him, "Of all the people who have asked me questions about orgonomy since Reich died, you are the only one who asked the right questions."
His most important interest is the potential impact of cloudbusting on the environment, for both good and ill. He has been an active campaigner for ecological responsibility in the cloudbusting field, in opposition to the growing mass hobby of cloudbusting at random by people with no ecological awareness or concern. This has made him many deadly enemies, whose hostility he regards as evidence of his effectiveness.

Learning Cloudbusting

The oranurization of the global atmosphere by technological use of radioactivity remains the worst threat to the long-term viability of this planet, but cloudbuster proliferation is a fast-growing second.
Much of the increase in weather-related disasters in recent years is almost certainly the result of the improvement in communications made possible by the internet. Cloudbuster proliferation has vastly increased in recent years, mainly as a result of well-intentioned fools who spread information about cloudbusting over the internet, imagining that they are helping to "spread the word", or in some cases, even fantacising they are thwarting some evil conspiracy to "silence Reich".
The belief is common in conspiracy-theory circles that there is some secret government agency that knows all about cloudbusting, is using it themselves for some nefarious purpose, and wants to keep anyone else from using it. Many of these people think this is the reason Reich was jailed, and that he was murdered in prison to keep him from revealing any more about it to the public. So they think they should encourage as many people as possible to start doing cloudbusting in their backyards to break the government monopoly on weather control.

The problem is further complicated by idiots who think there is some "information" someplace on the internet about "how to do" cloudbusting. There is no such "information". Learning to do cloudbusting is not a matter of "information"and cannot be taught over the internet. Cloudbusting cannot be reduced to a cookbook recipie of "do this, and this will happen", "do that, and that will happen".
Cloudbusting training should start with a through background in orgone biophysics, followed by additional study of how the normal atmosphere functions, the various pathologies that can take place in it, and what the causes of them are. Only then does it become apparent what to do in an intervention.

This is apparently not comprehensible to the people who think it is possible to learn "how to do cloudbusting" without bothering to first learn how the normal atmosphere behaves and the reasons for whatever problems may arise in it.
The first thing that a would-be cloudbuster operator needs to learn is not how to do cloudbusting; it is how NOT to do cloudbusting. The first thing to learn is what not to do; the mistakes and errors to avoid. Only after that is it safe to learn what to do. Yet this concept is conspicuously missing from the numerous websites that proport to teach cloudbusting to the masses as a hobby.
Specific examples of mistakes by operators who have published reports of their operations are an important teaching tool to illustrate to beginners what to avoid doing. A comparison of the published reports with an ecological analysis afterwards is the best way to show the whole range of possible errors.  If someone is going to start doing cloudbusting, the first step should be to take a good look at what others have done wong. That is one reason I have published so many criticisms of the people who have published so much about their operations. They serve as the best possible illustrations of what NOT to do, and that is what a beginning student most needs to learn.
A good example of what NOT to do is the adoption of electricly-operated remote controled cloudbusters by Blasband, DeMeo, and those under their influence. This done supposedly  for the safety of the operator, but is a wrong way to go about it.
The extent of the field around the cloudbuster can vary greatly, depending not
only on the size of the cloudbuster and how it is grounded, but also on weather conditions and the location.

Operator safety can be accomplished best by the operator
knowing what symptoms to watch for. Also, having another
person nearby, but not directly in contact with the
cloudbuster, to watch the operator for any signs of
 overcharge.

It is also possible for the operator to take certain
nuitricional suplements which increase resistance to the most
likely sort of medical harm from overcharge. And, of course,
frequent immersion in water while operating is a good idea.

But remote control of the cloudbuster is a very bad idea
because that means separation between the operator and the
energetic system of the cloudbuster, and through that, of
the atmosphere, which deprives him of the most important
information input- the bioenergetic contact with the
apparatus and atmosphere that tells him what is going on.

Carolyn Cooper, while doing cloudbusting in Ireland, was
able to tell when the cloudbuster made energetic contact
with a storm far out at sea by the feel of the energy
passing down the pipes. That is the best way to monitor
cloudbusting operations. Without such direct contact, the
operator cannot know what results he is having until it is
too late to correct any mistakes.

There is no instrumentation that can tell what a
cloudbuster is doing to the atmosphere. There never will be,
despite the bogus claims of such devices as the
"orgonotester" that is sold by DeMeo and others.
The only way to detect atmospheric orgone changes is
biologically, and for that, direct orgonotic contact of
cloudbuster and operator is needed. That is why remote
 control is a mistake.
All cloudbusting should be done with the three "deeps" in mind.
DEEP SPACE,
 DEEP TIME,
and DEEP ECOLOGY.
DEEP SPACE means all operations are global. Anything you do with a cloudbuster affects the whole planet. There is no such thing as a local cloudbusting operation. Distant effects should be expected.
DEEP TIME means remembering the earth was very different in the not-too-distant past. To restore the atmosphere to health is not the same thing as returning it to the way it has been for the past few hundred years or the past few thousand years. Paleoclimatology and paleoecology must be taken into account in deciding what is really normal and setting goals for the program..
DEEP ECOLOGY means all cloudbusting should be BIOCENTRIC, NOT ANTHROPOCENTRIC. That means the needs of the entire ecosystem should be considered first, not the ecconomic, political, or agricultural needs of the human species. Just as a doctor is supposed to treat any patient without regard to nationality or politics, a cloudbuster operator should rise above the human species and see himself as working for all life, not just his own kind.

From My Correspondence............

I had a bit of an argument with Jerry Decker recently over an article he posted about some cloudbusting he had done. Along the way, he mentioned some group he knew who he said were doing a lot of cloudbusting. I suspected he ment the Weather Rangers group you have mentioned, so I finally got around to checking them out.

I do not think the equipment they are using could really do what they claim. In fact, I do not think it could do anything at all for reasons set out below, but I sent some information on the ecological considerations involved in cloudbusting to the group leader anyway, and sent you a copy of the letter I sent him.

All high-voltage electromagnetic equipment can break up clouds. TV and radio broadcasting antenas, power lines, radar dishes, microwave towers, big transformers, etc. all irritate the orgone around them into a mild oranur state. Clouds near them will disipate from the expansion triggered.

There is no way to reverse the process. No possible EM device can cause clouds to form. Neither can any EM device attract clouds from a distant point, or trigger rain from them. But there have been several cases of people who have seen the disipation of clouds by some home-made electrical device, and have jumped to the conclusion, based on what they know of electromagnetic theory, that the process could be reversed by reversing the polarity. Despite a lack of observational evidence, they then convince themselves that it is actually happening because the theory is so persuasive and they do not understand the processes involved in cloud formation and how electromagnetic energy interacts with the orgone field of the earth.

So I think the most likely explanation in the case of the so-called Weather Rangers is self-deception by power-freaks who would like to be able to control the weather and do not know enough about either orgonomy or conventional physics to know it is impossible to do so by any electromagnetic means.

In 1960, leading atmospheric physicist Bernard Vougnagut, streched a wire over a canyon and electrified it, inonizing the air around it. A thin line of cloud formed around the wire. This is conventionally considered to be ionization of the air with the ions providing consation nuclei for water vapor in the air to condense around. The extent of the effect is limited to a few inches at most, but there have been plenty of attempts to extend it by using a wire grid to obtain a cloud cover over the area below it. This type of small-scale weather modification has been tried in Russia and Mexico . It is so far the only method of electromagnetic weather control known. And it is virtually worthless. Controling weather over a distance of two inches is a joke. And it cannot be scaled up because of the inverse square law, which dictates that to obtain any effect at distances that would be worthwhile would require more electrical power than could be available.

For the same reason, I remain convinced that despite all popular claims to the contrary, the HAARP antenna array in Alaska cannot have any practical weather control function. It is certainly large enough to disrupt the weather, as all strong electrical excitation sources do, but there is a vast gap between disrupting the weather and controlling it.

Several inventors have claimed a discovery of electrical weather control. A gadget called a "Joe Cell" has been claimed to alter weather. There has been some similiar claim made recently by a David Wells. Some of the "free energy" buffs have made a similiar claim for the Newman motor, a well-publicized free energy invention. So far, none of these inventors have done a public demonstartion of their devices under controlled conditions. But I do not accuse them of intentional deceit. I think they are sincerely convinced they have made a great discovery.

But if any such discovery is ever made, the effects of the device, whatever it may turn out to be, will have to be consistant with what we already know of the orgone energy envelope of the earth and the way it causes weather events to occur. No device will ever be invented that can do something contrary to what we know of the behavior of orgone energy. We simply cannot ignore what we already know and what is based on extensive obnservation just because some individual unfamiliar with the known facts claims to have discovered something.

And given the long history of group self-deception, from religions to the current "Global Warming" hysteria, the mere number of people who suport the initial claimant is irrelevant. A large number of people can get caught up in a fantasy or cult movement as easily as one person.

That may sound arrogant and narrow-minded to the alternative scientific community, but I am not running for office and am not in a popularity contest.  And where cloudbusting is concerned the stakes are too high to treat cultists and fantasies seriously.
